Stream or SCREAM
How can this system continue to be rolled out. It is shockingly bad.
fir decades Sky was at the forefront of TV technology. They have now gone to the back of the queue.
A system that constantly (at least twice a day) needs to be unplugged to reset it.
Sound so far out of sync that the characters have left the scene but they're still talking.
Conned out of SKY HD + by scare mongering. Mis sold Q they tried really hard to sell us Glass but new sub standard TVs are not needed. So we've ended up with Stream. Can it be set up to function properly or is it just awful.

Re: Stream or SCREAM
The only issue I've had with Stream was with Atmos audio cutting out but I've resolved that by changing a setting and it's now 100% faultless...

Re: Stream or SCREAM
Hi @Stanofton
As per the other posts I have 2 Glass TVs and 4 Pucks and have next to zero issues. It's far less hassle than Q ever was with the minis always disconnected from the main box.
The key is having fast and stable broadband. Sky recommends 25Mbps for HD and 30Mbps for UHD and an extra 5Mbpa for each additional puck.
The lip sync is a known issue which Sky is aware and working on a fix. Like all tech this needs to go through the development and release cycle, although personally indont suffer too much with the issue, but it does seem to hit some badly.
More on the issue here: https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Sky-Stream/Lip-Sync-issues-Sky-Stream/td-p/4607728
If you post exactly what the issues you are having that is forcing you to reboot the community will do it's best to assist.

Re: Stream or SCREAM
Thanks for the reply.
We have way more speed than needed to use the four pucks.
The issue with them is they constantly freeze out so the only resolution is to unplug them to reboot them.
As to the lip sync issue it's working better now we've turned off the Dolby but that is a huge own goal for SKY. Spend years developing (ha ha) a system that doesn't work properly. Then scramble to put fixes in place.
The pucks are essentially doing the same job as those required for Apple TV but seem much less robust and way smaller, my thoughts are they've gone cheap to maximise profits and it's backfired.

Re: Stream or SCREAM
If you could let us know a bit more about your setup and exactly what kind of issues you are having.
We may be able to help you further.
Plus, have a read of the stability help below that I have used on here many times to help customers.
Yes, some customers have experienced a lip sync issue with some TV kit. Sky are working on a fix for this, it seems it has been more complex than they originally thought, from pushing out an earlier fix. Link for that thread is mentioned in other posts above.
I have never suffered the lip sync issue on either of my Pucks that I have had for just over a year now, with differing TVs, using TV sound, integrated TV soundbar and other soundbars attached.
The pucks for me on my Sky Broadband Ultrafast+ 500Mbps all on wifi, work without issue.
I do once a week do a settings restart once a week, maybe that helps. But then I did a once a week reboot with my previous Sky Q that I also had no issues with on wifi for its 8 or so years of use, just to give it a cache type boost.
Stabilty help for Stream:
Having a good local network broadband reach is key to Sky Stream.
Not just broadband speed to your house and router, but for your local network supply via wifi or ethernet, that can be affected in a busy household.
Best way to test is via a network speed test on each of your Pucks.
Launch Netflix on your pucks (you do not need to be logged into it, if you do not use netflix) and scroll down the left menu to Get help.
Choose Check Network.
Would suggest running the test a few times, over say a half hour period during tests.
What is your speed for each puck?
Also, it may be suffering from interference,, the puck much like a Sky Q box can for some customers suffer from this at times. More often seen as an intermittent blip.
Not always a cure, but the following may help to resolve;
Make sure you have a good 6-8 inches free on all sides of the puck.
Do not stack the puck on top of any other device.
Best not to sit it on a glass shelf. Wood is generally the best.
Make sure the puck is in the open, not tucked away in a cabinet or sat directly behind the TV.
Make sure you have no other devices that can cause interference closeby, like cordless phones, radiators, baby monitors, smart meter in home displays, microwaves and the like.
You should be using the Sky supplied hdmi cable or a high speed equivalent one.
Plus, change both your pucks to following recommended settings set in Settings>
Turn wifi OFF under Network if connected via ethernet.
Set Network standby mode to ON and Overnight power saving is OFF.
