Stream Trial

Anyone any knowledge as to how the Stream 1 Month trial works? TIA

Passing on the tips I have learned in over 24 years as a more than satisfied Sky customer.

There's a 31 day cooling off period where you need to cancel within. And subsequently return the hardware   ....

@TechmanagerMal legally you have 14 day cooling off period when you buy a new service remotely Sky extend that to a month but it is technically not a trial for existing customers as you sign up for the contract as normal. Sky stop any other TV service like Sky Q but dont ask for you to send the kit back until the cooling off period has finished. If you dont like Stream then call them within the first month and they will reinstate Sky Q service if you have that and ask you to return the Stream pucks.

Re: Stream Trial

Has anyone done the move to Stream from Sky Q recently? The CS advisor I just spoke to said I'd need to return the Q box first and there is no option to retain the old Q boxes while first using Stream.

What the advisor told you is unfortunately incorrect. Sky will allow you to cancel Stream and revert back to Sky Q within the first 31 days, so what happens is that Sky would cancel your Sky Q account and switch you over to Stream. They will then dispatch returns packaging for you, which should arrive about 4 weeks later, so you can return the Sky Q box after the initial 31 days. Sky do this so customers switching from Q can try the new streaming platform and if they don't like it, its a fairly easy switch back over to Q without requiring equipment to be sent out.

Have just gone from sky q to stream this week and have got 31 days trial, changed broadband package as well but that doesn't become active until middle of may, still using supefast.

Re: Stream Trial

Hi

A new Sky customer question, having to give 31 days notice, does that mean cancelling the same day as the puck being activated?

If you don't and wait until the end of the one month trial cancelling, you have to give 31 days notice and would be charged for what would be a second month?

Any clues ?

Correct, if you literally want to try Stream then yes you would need to order and give cancellation on the activation date.

Note it's not exactly a free trial as you would be charged £39 activation fee for the stream puck.

Re: Stream Trial

Hi

As soon as I activated sky stream billing for sky q stopped, have still got about 2 weeks before trial ends, have paid recently for balance on sky q contract which has ended unless go back to q after trial.

Changing broadband as well to fibre but does not come into effect until next week with sky.
