Issues with Sky Stream apps

I have sky stream. The channel 4 app freezes every minute or so, making it totally unusable, discovery+ says I have the app through sky, and just need to log in, then when I log in, says I need to go to google to upgrade, cant talk to anyone on the phone, as it ALWAYS says high call volume,

Couple of things to try 

 

first pull the plug for 10 mins .....

 

also in the settings menu there's an option for "refresh apps" - if you select this it normally works over a few hours in the background
