@Tmparry01   You're not talking to Sky and if you don't want to pay for ad skipping you can cancel it.

Ad skipping was origianlly only intended to be free for the 1st year when Glass was released, it was then extending for a further year, so has been free for 2 years.

@Tmparry01

Glass/Stream is essentially a Comcast product, and I'd observe that shame is not something which giant American corporations spend much time expressing.

Also worth pointing out that you get to fast forward through ads on third party apps like ITV and Channel 4 with this add-on, for which Sky would need to be paying a fee to these broadcasters.

If the fast forwarding only applied to Skys own channels and on-demand content then I would agree with you but as they have deals with other apps ( for the which the alternative would be to upgrade to the ad-fee tier on these other services thus costing you more money) I see no reason why Sky wouldn't charge a fee for this.

Re: Sky you should be ashamed

FTA broadcasters need compensation for not watching their ads at standard speed😉

The FTA broadcaster were never able to receive this from Sky for DSat broadcastering, because the broadcasts could be recorded on any box not just Sky boxes🤔

With IP the broadcasters are taking back control of their creations😉
