Thank you for your replies. I'm not good with technology (I'm an oldie!) but after fiddling around for a while I've worked out how to do it - easy once you know how!
Thanks again for your replies, they pointed me in the right direction.

Re: Sky stream
@RWB1 You should still be able to add it to your playlist while it's in progress.
43" Glass TV & Puck Whole Home
Please note I only provide help on the main forums and not via PM, PM's are switched off.
Samsung 75" 4K TV, Sky Glass Gen 2 55", Sky Stream, Sky 1Gig FTTP Broadband, Three 5G Broadband (Backup), Sony 7.1 AV Receiver, Technisat MultiSat receiver.

You can't record on Sky Stream.
You can click the 'watch from the start' button if you want to watch something that's already started right away.
You can add it to a 'playlist' instead which will direct you to all episodes of that programme which are available on demand. Find the episode you want and it will trigger playback via the appropriate third party app or, in the case of Sky channel programming, direct from Sky's servers.
For channels which do not have an on demand app, and for some live sport events, you may get access to a 'cloud recording' or a saved section of the live channel stream, tagged by the EPG metadata at the original broadcast time. This is not a personal recording though and can be removed by Sky at any time, depending on streaming rights for that particular content.
