Re: Sky stream
I installed Sky stream yesterday, as a replacement for Sky Q.
I did this in preparation for a home move to a new build where I'd prefer not to have an ugly dish mounted, holes drilled in my wall and a product that will be obsolete in the next 5 years at the end of life of Astra satellites.
The install process was relatively straightforward, apart from having to force a reboot to resolve a hung screen when the box was checking for software updates.
i am really impressed so far- I he box is tiny and I have no issue with the interface.
I loved how easily I was identified as the user during the setup process and auto logged in.
Only minor niggles - the settings are defaulted to stream in HD and there is no prompt to switch to UHD, although it is easy to do n the settings.
Strangely I wasn't allowed to customise my package when ordering and was required to take a package that matched my previous sky Q one, although I was told I can make changes after a month ?? Eg. Unsubscribe from movies.
I am very impressed so far, the picture is stunning, the interface is responsive and programmes easy to find.
I have gigafast so it may be that some of the reported issues are due to slow broadband ?
Does anyone know, will Sky send me packaging to return my Sky Q box or should I contact them to arrange that.

@Kenny+Rankin
Sky should send out returns packaging after any cancellation period [31 days for Sky Q] just in case you can't get on with Glass/Stream and want to revert back. It will be sent to the address the Q equipment was used at.
You can use any packaging as long as it’s secure and you may want to put a note inside with your account number and a list of equipment that is included. This link explains about how to receive an email with your return labels through Royal Mail.

Keep your proof of posting safe and indefinitely and if you use Royal Mail’s collect from home service, keep a record of the tracking number.

Re: Sky stream
@Kenny+Rankin My returns boxes took about 7 weeks to arrive as they don't start processing until after the cooling off period in case you change your mind. When you post them back make sure you obtain and keep a proof of postage (I kept mine for a year after posting). Sky have been known to claim months afterwards that they didn't receive the return.

Re: Sky stream
As mentioned above, the packaging is not sent to you until a week or so after the first cooling off month.
You will get an email and/or text closer to that time to say the packaging is on its way.
It gets sent out Royal Mail 48 track.
The packaging is designed to go through a letterbox, so even being tracked you do not have to sign for it.
Make sure when you send it back that you keep a copy of the posting tracking number receipt from the post office.

Re: Sky stream
Thank you for the tip @Fothergill1 but i knew about that but am sure helpful for others. Like you said i wish they could improve the CW trail so it was easier to remove or delete.
How does one delete the last episode? I had a programme from Sky Atlantic and i had to go through 7 series with 12 programs in each and had to fast forward all of them!
But i will say again, its so superior to Q

Re: Sky stream
@Super+Anthony When there are multiple series of a programme and the last episode of the last series doesn't drop off when you run it through I find the following usually works. run through the last episode of the series you are watching. when that finishes it will move to the 1st episode of the next series. Run that through and then the last episode of that series. Keep doing this until you get to the last series and last episode and hopefully it will drop off.
If that fails I just leave the episode on the CW rail and after a number of weeks it will have moved to the end of the rail and will drop off. Highly frustrating but it is what it is until Sky introduce a delete option (if ever).

hmm, i will no longer be at that address so I'd best contact them, or use my own packaging.

I will have moved house but since it is sent Royal Nail then the RM redirect service should divert it
