Sky stream wont turn on with remote

I have had a sky stream puck for a couple of years.

After it been off for a while I cant turn it back on with the remote or power button underneath, it needs turning on and off at the wall for it to recognise and to reboot.

It is a brand new remote and works fine once it is actually on and no issues with the wifi connection but when look online says its not connected to the wifi until been turned on and off at the wall then seems to pick up the signal again
