Sky stream such a poor offering

I had sky Q for years and was relatively happy with it but moving home forced me to "upgrade" to Stream.  I have to say the device is just poor in comparison to Q. Everything through the apps, dodgy fast forwarding, programme loading issues.

My Sony tv which uses another system is so much quicker.
you pay top dollar for sky and get a piece of technology that makes you want to watch much less tv.

How fast is your internet ? What speed is reaching the device ?

you can find this out by opening the native Netflix app and selecting get help then network check

you realistically need at least 35mbs to run uhd shows

Re: Sky stream such a poor offering

I tend to agree that the platform itself seems flawed, like the hardware is not high enough spec to run the software and the software itself is buggy.

The issues I get often are:

"youre not connected to the internet" but you go to the settings page and it says you are the works, I have mine set to never use power save and keep internet connected overnight but still get this often at switch on.

No picture, so I need to power off and back on again then it's fine

Frequent audio drop outs on Dolby Digital through my Denon AV receiver

Pixelated pictures randomly (my internet is 1GB and my wifi is 370mbps in the area thr puck is)

Slow interface, variable forwarding performance, and voice control is not that great

The latest issue is that I am now being told I need to upgrade my subscription to view Legend Extra, been like it for two days with no response from Sky on X (Twitter) just an automated response to an email.

I switched from Sky Q and the only advantage with Stream is that I don't lose the signal in heavy rain and snow anymore. The platform could be brilliant, but the hardware/software needs an upgrade to make it a smoother and more consistent experience.

Averages about 125mbs via sky broadband with Ethernet connection.

Have given the system a good 4 months and as mentioned above the hardware is flawed.
There is less quality content on the platform as well since a lot has gone over to Disney+.

See my post 'All selections on Stream are giving Technical issues" and my reply to 'Football skipping" post.

I have looked at similar complaints and they have been around for a long time , months , years!

All posts show a shambles of a system.

We are paying a lot of ££ for Sky Stream but not getting a  quality reliable service!

Agreed - and Sky waste their effort improving  tv channel "Favourites"
