Sky stream still down

Hi 

 

I'm having big problems with sky stream they have sent out 3 new pucks but keeps on coming up with software error on setup I have now been told it's going to be at least the middle of June until a fix is sorted anyone else having the same problem?

Hi @Dan209 

 

Who is your ISP? It seems odd that all 3 would error unless there was a major issue Sky's end or a local environmental factors. There have been issues with some smaller fibre ISPs and non UK IP addresses.

 

Some things to try:

1) the advice here: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/setting-up-sky-glass-updating-software (not exactly same issue but may help).

 

2) maybe try using mobile hotspot for set up and then connect to your WiFi.

mine went off tonight no idea why it just  kept saying please wait for your programe to load then it said there is a techical fault with this channel i have just joined Sky stream  was with now  tv but had issues with  buffering.

If your internet connection (or WiFi where relevant) wasn't capable of delivering enough bandwidth for satisfactory NowTV viewing then your experience with Sky Stream is likely to be even worse, as it's considerably more demanding.

@skyfan  If you open the Netflix app on the puck go to Get Help and Check your network what download speed does it report?

 

If you were having buffering issues with NOW Tv it's possible the cause is witth your internet/local network and with the case of Sky stream that will require a stronger and more stable internet connection that NOW TV would.

Sounds like you may have some local network issues, that may need looking at.


Can you do a network speed test on your Puck.
Launch Netflix on your pucks (you do not need to be logged into it, if you do not use netflix) and scroll down the left menu to Get help.

Choose Check Network.
Would suggest running the test a handful of  times, say over a half hour periodbetween tests.
