@Twigs

Have moved your post to the standby of Sky Glass/Stream discussion thread.

Read the other posts on the subject for thoughts and some reasoning.

This standby of Sky Glass/Stream has always been present, so assume you have not noticed it before.

Afraid, there is no way to change it.

Re: Pausing TV

If paused my sky stream 100's of times previously suddenly in the last moth I can't now it just switched off so it's not always been like this and I need to be able to pause

Also don't move my posts where you moved it doesn't solve the issue and doesn't answer it either

Re: Pausing TV

Can anyone give a definite answer to how long you can watch something, especially a film, before getting an on screen message warning that the stream puck will go into an energy saving mode? 2 hours? 4 hours?

Re: Sky stream standby mode

It seems to vary, why I have no idea. The puck was on last night after the local news on ITV, (6.30), then I forgot to put it in standby as SWMBO went on her PS5 for the rest of the night. At just after midnight I noticed the puck was still on and streaming ITV, almost 6 hours later. Never touched the remote.

@Dazzar51

Don't send anything back until Sky has formally agreed to cancel your Whole Home subscription.  You really don't want the hardware disappearing into the Unipart Logistics system if you are still financially responsible for it.

Sky puck turns tv off after 10 mins pause

I know everyone is complaining about this but hopefully sky will do something about it.. when I first got the puck you could pause for about 20 minutes and then it would just start up again but you could always rewind back if it did this .. now you can't do this !! It just turns off after about 5 to 10 minutes and that's it ! Why why why have they changed this without a word ! Anyone would think they don't want you to skip through the endless advertising ..

Re: Sky stream standby mode

Perhaps a complaint to OFCOM might address this? This has been imposed upon us with no notice, no explanation and WE HAVE NO CHOICE! I've had my puck for about 18 months and this has only started happening within the last 3 months or so. Prior to this, as mentioned by a previous poster, after 20 mins on pause, the programme just continued playing, the whole thing DIDN'T just shut down! So surely if it was linked to some EU protocol, it would have been an issue from day 1. No-one signed up for this, no-one wants this and we have no choice. Surely our right to choose should be respected?   If I had known this was coming, I would have stuck to my old ancient Sky box! 🤣🤣

Very much outside their remit, I would think.

Re: Sky stream standby mode

Sooo, you have probably noticed that my previous post regarding the 10 minute live pause then into standby mode has been taken down by the moderator. This is because I had mentioned that I had raised a complaint on 14th Sept and in my latest live chat days ago I was told by a Sky Expert that they only knew of a few people who had experienced this problem. I provided a link.

I have been given a warning by the moderator for breaking the 'Community Rules', one of which is, 'Don't incite Complaints'. So I apologise to Sky for breaking that rule.

Perhaps the only way to ensure Sky get to know there is a widespread issue as a result of a software update is to message them then.

Having mentioned the 'C' word again this probably won't be here long.....
