Sky stream recordings
Why are 2 minutes of a show being cut off the end of a recording on sky stream. And you can't change this in settings like other sky viewing platforms.

What are you trying to record?
Sky Stream doesn't record in the same sense as Sky Q. It mainly directs you to an on demand file for playback direct from a server or via a third party app. It relies on correct metadata being provided and logged by Sky from other broadcasters. If certain programmes which 'cloud record' over-run then you will experience the end being cut off. If watching something is important to you then it's wise to also add the following programme on the same channel to your playlist from the EPG.

Re: Sky stream recordings
@bryan19772015 That used to happen when I had SkyQ and yes it is very frustrating, but as @BenJoBanjo says nothing is recorded on Stream as all programs are available to watch in full anytime you like.

Re: Sky stream recordings
I'm aware of how stream works. I've had it since it came out . The word record was a euphemism. I'm taking about saved items I've added ending 2 minutes before the end.

Re: Sky stream recordings
Which programme/channel was this that you added to the playlist, that gave this cut off?
if you notice a cloud recording or an On demand asset that you have added to your playlist has a glitch like you mention, would suggest to flag it, for checking and resolution by Sky.
You can do this by sending an email to the Sky Viewer relations team to report it;
ViewerR@sky.uk
They do respond to emails with any updates for your queries or problems.
Sky Stream with two pucks (former Sky Q and Sky+ customer).
Sky Ultrafast + using Sky SR203 hub. Sky Mobile unlimited data. Sky Protect smart tech kit tester.

You did.
Does this happen on everything on the playlist or is it particular vendors you've noticed it on? Eg is BBC ok but Sky suffers from this? Does it tend to be TV shows or sports?

Re: Sky stream recordings
I continually have a problem with sky stream cutting off the last minutes of sporting events when I try to watch them on Playlist. Yesterday the "recording" of the South Africa vs Australia rugby was 20 minutes short of the end of the match. It's infuriating. Having to remember to add the following programme to the playlist (if indeed this would solve the problem, which I doubt) defeats the whole point of having a Playlist which is supposed to record your favourite programmes to catch up on. In addition, Sky effectively make it impossible to revert to Sky Q as they cut off access to stream at the point of order and can't tell you how long it would take to send out an engineer. If only I had access to Virgin.

The playlist isn't 'recording' anything. It's tagging individual programme files on a server for you to watch on demand later. This may be via a third-party app (iPlayer, ITVX, etc) or it may be a saved section of a live broadcast stream from a Sky Sports channel for example.
If the metadata for the live broadcast stream isn't correctly saved by Sky then it will unfortunately not tag the entire programme. This is not uncommon for live events because the end times cannot be guaranteed. It can be the case that the saved portion of the live channel stream is eventually replaced with a full and complete on demand version at a later date. This is not always guaranteed to be the case.
If you do want to revert to Sky Q and have your Stream service terminated, you can always sign up to a month or two of NOW TV whilst you wait for Q to be installed. NOW can be activated instantly and viewed via an app on most streaming devices in up to the same UHD quality with HDR and Atmos that you get on Q and Stream. You can't record it as it is purely a streaming service but will plug the gap between the termination of your Stream service and installation of Q if you can't live without Sky TV in some form.

Re: Sky stream recordings
As the respondent above I am aware it's not recorded, which is why I put the word in inverted commas. I undertakers may be an issue with events which overrun although Sky's software should be sufficiently advanced to deal with this. The event on question ran to time. I have had a similarly "stock" answer from Sky which really doesn't address the issue. If they are intent on selling an all singing all dancing product (allegedly) it should at least perform as claimed.

Re: Sky stream recordings
Assuming this was a Sky Sports cloud recording.
All Sky Sports channels added to playlist from the epg or correct menu listings, will make a cloud recording.
I do this for Cricket, Golf, Tennis, F1 and all forms of football, PL, EFL etc on the Sky Sports channels.
The cloud recordings are there to view straight away.
There been a few exceptions for some sports or events when it has not been possible for odd rights issues to provide a cloud recording.
The cloud recordings will not stay there forever and will move to an on demand version after a week to a few weeks depending on the sport, when the full on demand version is made available.
You always know it's a cloud recording as it adds a few minutes or more to the beginning and end, being the previous and next broadcast programme, along with it having the live broadcast adverts.
Same goes for a fair bit of C5 content and other channels like Great, Legend etc that do not have On demand availability or for the particular series or film.
Once the on demand version replaces it, obviously it plays out as just the event itself with none of those adverts as above, easy to determine the difference.
Of course, sometimes there is not any future on demand replacement, like C5/Great/Legend ones, so it stays as a cloud recording until the broadcaster rights determine to delete it from your playlist.
If you find the cloud recording is cutting off the end, you need to report to VR below.
I recently noticed the cloud recording of the US Open live broadcast of 3 hours on Sky Tennis channel for the 21 Aug mixed doubles WTA that showed the semi and final matches had the end cut off, basically the interviews and presentation after the final.
I reported the issue to VR a few hours after it was broadcast when I sat to watch it and they passed on and it was sorted promptly, when I looked about five or so hours later.
Did rewatch it again last night, cloud recording still nicely there and still correct.
So, your best bet to get this checked and resolved by Sky is to send an email to the Sky Viewer relations team to report it;
ViewerR@sky.uk
They do respond to emails with any updates for your queries or problems and pass on to the relevant teams.
