Sky stream puck remote battery usage

Am I the only one who seems to be replacing my batteries every two weeks? Why hasn't sky created a app to control the puck and tv?

Moderator notes: Edited title to reflect stream

@Big+Feet  You have a Sky Stream puck, Sky Glass refers to the TV only.

Why would Sky need to creat an app to also control your TV?  There are hundreds of different TV types out there so thats just not going to happen.

An App for Glass/Stream is a well requested feature.

Re: Sky glass puck remote battery usage

Puck only, not tv. Just its beyond me why we're reliant on a remote when a Sky remote app would be so much more helpful.

Re: Sky glass puck remote battery usage

@Big+Feet I think you probably have a dodgy remote or poor quality batteries as we've had our pucks for two years and the original batteries lasted a year and the replacement Duracell's are still going strong...

Re: Sky glass puck remote battery usage

Aye sure think so, just kept putting in the batteries, enough!  It's like the remote is permanently on.

Re: Sky glass puck remote battery usage

@Big+Feet there's been various issues reported by some people with the remotes from chewing through batteries to batteries exploding...  Good ol' high volume electronics that are produced extremely cheaply 👌🏻

good ergonomics and feels nice though 😆

Re: Sky stream puck remote battery usage

Interesting to see this post.

I've had Sky Stream since November,  the week before last the batteries died which I thought was a reasonable lenght of time.

However since then I've been getting through a new set a week (duracel).

I've also noticed my puck beinning to misbehave, for example this morning when I turned the puck on I had a message saying there was no internet connection when there was!!

Any thoughts on this would be gratefully recieved.

Re: Sky stream puck remote battery usage

Update... Remote munched though more batteries and has now started behaving oddly and becoming unresponsive.

New remote now ordered, hopefully that will solve the issue.
