Re: Sky stream keeps pausing and restarting
Hi @MikeS123123,
Firstly how is the stream puck connected to the internet, is it via Wifi or via an ethernet connection?
What is your expected broadband speed you should be getting to your property?
Have you performed a speed test from the Sky Stream puck to check what download speed it is getting? ( You can do this by opening Netflix on the puck, going to Get Help then Check Your Network and it will run a network diagnostic including the download speed).

Re: Sky stream keeps pausing and restarting
I wonder if it's a problem with the sky software. I had Now TV before and never had this problem. I'd like to speak to Sky but their telephone number redirected me to this forum site

It's more likely a problem with the Sky hardware to be honest. Sky Stream requires a constant fast and stable connection to Sky's servers to function with any reliability. The pucks are cheap and mass-produced with little internal RAM to allow the streams to buffer. Any fluctuation in the broadband network connection can cause the stream to pause and ultimately fail, thus crashing the puck.
NOW operates as an app on various different brands of hardware - be it built into a TV or on a Firestick, Roku, Android or Apple TV box. These devices tend to have local storage and the NOW app is hosted on the device itself, not on Sky's servers. This tends to make it more stable and able to cope with network speed changes. This is certainly what I've found since reverting to NOW.

I can believe this. I had Now TV before but changed to sky stream because of the better interface. However, with the problems I'm having I'm thinking of cancelling sky and going back to Now Tv.

Re: Sky stream keeps pausing and restarting
I've recently gone with Sky Stream. I had to blag it a little it to get it as my current broadband speed tops around 16mbps. I'm waiting for FTTP to be installed shortly, and I got Stream with a trial month and a two month subscription cashback offer through Lloyds Bank back in March, so I took the plunge. Anyhow the pic quality is pretty stable, bar the odd glitch, certainly not continually pausing and restarting or a blank screen. The difference is the stream box is connected to the router with an ethernet cable not wi-fi. So try that you should get a far more stable picture at the broadband speed you're getting.
