If you read through this forum you'll see that opinions on Sky Stream are decidedly mixed.
It works extremely well for many people and not so well for others.
Your experience will depend largely on what your expectations of the service are, and how fast and stable a broadband network you can provide for the service to operate.
The best way to find out if you'll get on with it or not is to try it.

Re: Sky stream good/no good
I had Sky Glass & 2 pucks when they first came out, Oct'21, our broadband was Sky, couldn't connect with Ethernet as the router was too far away, it was terrible buffering all the time even though my speed was 70mbps, the problem was the WiFi, it has to be robust if it isn't you get my problem, anyway sent it back & reverted to Sky Q
Then in Oct 2023 Virgin Media put the infrastructure in our area, went for it the VM Hub was next to the tv & where Stream would be, as it was VM got their Stream box, that's really good & quick, you can FFW through adverts.
decided to try Sky Stream again, connected via Ethernet works fine even on WiFi, it's slower than the VM box but works really well, picture quality superb, apps take a while to load but once you're in no issues, Netflix loads really fast, had a couple of times when the puck locked up but that's all, just reset the puck & back to normal
if you can get used to not recording programs as there is no hard drive, you get a Playlist which adds all your programs, when you want to watch one just click on it, if it's BBC, ITV & CH4 they you to the relevant app which can be slow, Sky channels & CH5 playback from the cloud which is quicker, if you subscribe to add free you have to FFW through adverts, it's £5 a month but you get 2 months free, if you cancel it as soon as you've subscribed when your 2 months are up you get it free for 2 months again & again, just keep cancelling you'll get it free all of the time
I would definitely recommend

Demonstrates again that bandwidth is only one factor. A wifi connection has also to be stable to avoid problems with buffering, stuttering, black screens and 'technical difficulties'.

Re: Sky stream good/no good
The latest update has definitely improved things but apart from a few niggles which hopefully will get sorted as time goes on, it works well.

Re: Sky stream good/no good
Love Strem/Glass here, especially my wife. She prefers the user interface and adding to/watching from playlist that includes everything from all our subscribed services. It's not cheap but it's one of our few indulgences. I'm more than happy with it from an AV point of view - the 4K HLG picture and Atmos sound frequently impresses.
