Sky stream cutting out on TV channels but apps are ok?

Funny you say that as since posting it's all stopped for the moment. It's all very odd to be honest. We tried a stick (won't say which), that was horrendous for our area (with lack of signal ect ect) 🤦🏼‍♀️

It stopped because Sky rolled back the software last night. As previouasely reported thus was a software error.

I'm now having the black screen issue and having read through the threads, it seems that Sky should have resolved this by now, is anyon else still having this black out issue?

@HKF84 I had this issue occasionally in the past but it has not happened for at least 3 or 4 months.  If you continue to get the problem I would call Sky for their advice.

Thanks for the response. Same here, fault has disappeared. I believe a software update fixed this.

I've got two stream pucks and had this issue on one of them but not the other. The one with the issue was connected to a TV which was then in turn connected to an AV Amp by HDMI. I replaced both HDMI with new good quality ones and have not had the issue since. I believe it's a form of HDMI buffering. I had a similar issue in the past with SkyQ. Netflix and other apps are well known for extremely efficient image compression so it could be that Sky stream on normal channels needs a higher bit rate which overloads older or lesser quality HDMI cables.
