I have tried several plug socket that work with other items tvs etc.
I have unplugged and waited a few mins before turning backing on
I have called support who took my query then went silent and did not respond for 7 minutes.
I assume the best course of action is to cancel my subscription as this is withing the first few days and reconet with virgin media who I never had an issue with in 10 years?

Honest mate it's the biggest piece of crap you will ever buy . It's horrendous. If I had a pound for every time I had to do a reset with this piece of **bleep** I'd be a millionaire.
