Does sky stream has to be connected directly to tv
Yes. Via an HDMI cable, otherwise you won't see or hear anything on your TV. It can be looped through a soundbar or AVR if it allows full pass-through of video and audio.

Re: Sky steam set up
There's currently no such system from any provider which works remotely from its display screen: while 'wireless HDMI' is a thing, it's notoriously unreliable (and in particular the bandwidth required for UHD simply isn't going to be possible that way)
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2

Well you would either connect the stream puck to your internet via WiFi for it to work, or if your WiFi signal isn't strong and stable enough then something like a power line adapter would work but you should try the WiFi first.
