Re: Sky pucks freezing

It's the worse piece if kit I ever bought , do not buy it it's garbage . I pay over 125 a month and also had to buy the pucks and they are a complete waste of money . If you want to watch sky uninterrupted keep the dish.    And that's with 900 m/s broadband. So it's not the network.
DO NOT BUY THIS.

Re: Sky pucks freezing

Thanks, I had no idea about this. I signed up with them back in September and I've had issues since day 1.  There are a lot of good tips here and I've tried every single one of them, even did a factory reset as a last resort earlier with no success.  I'll be phoning them in the morning to cancel, I've had enough.

Re: Sky pucks freezing

I'm having exactly the same issues. The pick stutters, blanks, randomly resets and occasionally freezes requiring a hard reset (pulling the power).

I called sky to get a replacement puck, which arrived but had exactly the same issues. I have 1GB internet, so bandwidth is not the problem. It's the shonky hardware/software that Sky have chosen to shaft their users. This is a case of the least possible money spent and smacks of a shameless cash grab.

With the helpful knowledge found in this thread that I can cancel in 31 days without penalty, I'm offsky... Literally and figuratively!

Re: Sky pucks freezing

I had the same problems with the Sky pucks.  The first one we had would not start up on day 1 from the remote and had to be reset. It then worked ok for a few weeks and then started freezing.  This sztarted as once a week and gradually became every day.  After a few months I got a replacement which was exacty as bad.

Sky's hardware is now absolute garbage.  They are clearly having these manufactured at the lowest price point whicxh is fairly demonstrable by the number of people who have issues with these.

Because the Sky TV was for my elderly parents who couldn't deal with the constant lock ups, I cancelled sky stream and then had tyo pay MORE to get Sky Q which I was assured would be a lot better.

And now the Sky Q box we have is even worse - it takes a 20 minute removal of power to get it to reset, and then I have to remove and re-insert the hdmi cable after it has powered up to get an image.  So it seems that the Sky Q boxes are also being built down to the lowest price as well.

Does anyone remember when sky used to supply reliable equipment, and also when their support was top notch?   Their customer support is now worse than Virgin who are a company that has set the standard for bad customer support for 15 years.
