I have been with Sky for 28 years. Had Sky Q for past 8 years in multi rooms.
Contract is up for renewal. They have offered me the whole Sky Stream package for what I am currently paying now for Sky Q.
- Current Sky Q internet is 42mb and the offer they've given me is fibre optic at 151mb. Is it a no brainer to switch. My son and I watch a lot of Live sport in 2 different rooms at same time, will that ok. Do I switch??
Thank you

Sky Stream should work out cheaper than Sky Q. Do some research to make sure Sky Stream will provide the same channels and give you what you want from a TV service. It's very different to Sky Q with fewer channels and no proper recording.

Re: Sky Stream v Sky Q
- Thanks for that info. I will research it. I did not know there would be LESS channels which concerns me. The advisor told me I would have everything I have now.........interesting

The most prominent 'missing' channel is Talking Pictures TV. A long list of international, news and religious channels also aren't there.

Re: Sky Stream v Sky Q
@Holmesy70 As has been said they are two different product's. They operate in a different way, think streaming services such as Netflix.
so you will hear things like no recording, or no +1 channels etc. However these are not needed as with the obvious exception of 'live' channels everything is there already again think Netflix or Apple+ etc. There is a Playlist but that is really just a reminder of what you want to watch, or if the program premiers at a later time or day you can usually still add it to your Playlist to watch after it starts being shown. The also good thing is every family member can have their own Playlist so if your son or other family members want to watch something you are not bothered about they can save it to theirs.
As far a missing channel, with all due respect they are mainly niche channels with the possible exception, as already mentioned, Talking Pictures..
The picture quality with Streaming is better but not significantly. There has been some issues in the past regarding adding 'live' events such as sport to being able to watch them but these are largely sorted now.
Overall I prefer it to Q which I had for over 10 years. You can of course sign up for Stream and try it for 30 days without obligation.

Re: Sky Stream v Sky Q
Thank you so much for this. You have calmed my anxiety about it and the the netflix analogy is a good explanation.
My son and I watch a lot of live sport so that is the important thing that the bad reports I've been reading are from some time ago and now resolved.
- I just loved Sky Q but then again I lived sky plus......thanks for reassuring
