Sky Stream is useless

I'm 2 months into contract and I've had nothing but issues! The router is one end of the livingroom and the puck is the other end! Technician wanted to throw cables over my roof and down the back of the house and drill into the wall. I didn't want all that, so the puck is now working off the WiFi without an ethernet cable! It's absolutely useless!. It's impossible to watch live TV without the picture freezing and lagging! When I try get assistance off Sky I'm told buy a WiFi booster or contact here for support!

There is literally the length of the house between TV and router

The other option is a powerline adapter, which would negate requiring a long ethernet cable running the length of the house.

How long is the living room?

Check what speed your Puck is receiving within the Netflix App on the Puck.

@JonSher81

While you aren't obliged to accept unreasonable options, it's probably important to understand that there are only a limited number of remedies which Sky can offer: unlike with Sky Q they don't loan wireless boosters for Stream.  Ultimately they can just release you from the rest of the contract and leave you to find another way to watch television.

Re: Sky Stream is useless

Just a standard size sitting room I'd say! Fireplace in the centre of the room and the TV mounted on wall to the left of the fireplace, and router sitting on a shelf to the right of the fireplace.

I just checked network speed via netflix, 3.92Mbps🫣

Which is your problem, the puck isn't getting a good enough signal. Sky recommend 25mbps, 30mbps for UHD.

There's definitely a cable long enough.

Re: Sky Stream is useless

Powerline plugs can be very useful, but note that each plug ideally should be on the same electrical circuit e.g. I cannot use them on different floors in my home.

They work well for me for extending signal into my garage and garden as well as a camera in my pond.
