Sky Stream / Sky ID’s
Hi all,
I'm swithering moving to Sky Stream but wondering if this is recommended. Also I was reading that I can create Sky ID's for family members and link to my Sky ID account so they would have access to my Sky package. Is this correct and if I did purchase more Stream Pucks, could my family log on at their house and watch my package with their linked Sky ID?

No, you cannot share your Sky package with other family members in different households.

Thats for Sky Go, where you are use the app to stream Sky channels and on-demand content from outside your house. Sky Go is included as part of a Sky TV subscription.
The Sky Stream puck can only be used at your registered address, this includes additional pucks bought along with the Whole Home package (this is designed to allow you to have Sky Stream Pucks or Glass TV in multiple rooms at your address). Sky actively monitor IP address changes so are able to identify where customers are taking pucks to other address and take further action against that customer.

Re: Sky Stream / Sky ID’s
Thanks. What is the purpose of creating new Sky ID's then for friends and family?

To give them authorisation to speak to Sky on your behalf and add/remove services from your account, but not actually use the services away from the registered address. This is often useful for those with some form of disability who need assistance or for those managing an account belonging to elderly parents for example.

I'm swithering getting Sky Q but would Stream not do the same job and be cheaper?
This question gets asked a lot.
Sky Stream is a bit of a marmite service, some people love it and have no issues with how it functions, others hate it and find it slow and glitchy.
It is pointless even considering it unless you have fast and stable broadband in every room in which you wish to have a puck. The Stream pucks are very sensitive to speed and quality fluctuations in your home network, so without a good one you will likely have issues.
The benefit of Sky Q is that it relies entirely on a Sky installed dish/box setup which they maintain. With Sky Stream you are in charge of making sure the broadband network in your home is up to the job.
The only way to find out if it'll work for you really is to try it. You can return Stream within 31 days if it doesn't work for you and then order a Sky Q installation instead if you wish. Alternatively, Sky programming is available in the same quality (up to UHD with HDR & Atmos) via the NOW app on other streaming devices, so there are plenty of options.
