@MICEng   There can be a number of reasons.  Firstly do you know what your internet speed is?  Also is your puck standing alone without anything touching it and several feet away from any electrical equipment.  Does it have a clear line of sight to your router without anything touching objects being in the way?  These can all affect your picture.

If your puck is shutting down for no reason then this could indicate a fault, so my suggestion would be to contact Sky. It may need replacing @MICEng

It could be as simple as you missing the on-screen message saying that your device will go into standy unless you pick up the remote.

It caught me out a few times when, prior to having add skipping, I went for a comfort break in the middle of binge watching a series.

Re: Sky Stream Puck keeps shutting down

Thank you, I looked out for such a message as this has happened multiple times while were watching. The screen just goes wihtout any message and I always have to turn the puck back on afterwards.. We are now decided puck is ruining our TV experience, and I'll be looking for changing to Sky Q instead, even if it is lower quality sound/picture.

You may find that Sky will not sell you Q unless you already have a dish and were previously a satellite customer.

In any case you will have to order by phone.

Best of luck.
