Sounds like the AV receiver is causing some kind of blip then perhaps.

Does it power switch off or just go into a low standby mode?

Sounds like the puck is having a  connecting issue in the sequence of all that starting up or it's actually going into a deeper sleep.

Re: Sky Stream Puck, Please Wait….

Hi @lettice

The AV Receiver goes into Standby, when switched off. There hasn't been any kind of firmware update for the AV Receiver either.

I've left it powered off for 30 minutes, disconnected it from the mains plug, and disconnected it from the Sky Stream Puck. I'll see what happens tomorrow morning.

My setup hasn't changed since when I previously had Sky Q. Sky Stream worked fine, odd how this issue starts a few weeks ago.

Thanks

Barry 🙂

Re: Sky Stream Puck, Please Wait….

Hi @lettice

Well that didn't work. Looks like I'll need to speak to Sky.

All my Sky Stream Pucks are on, QS037.045.01P. Four of my five Sky Stream Pucks are on UI Version 3.44.0. The other Sky Stream Pucks is on, UI Version 3.89.

Thanks

Re: Sky Stream Puck, Please Wait….

Hi @lettice

When my Sky Stream Puck got the, UI Version 3.89.0 update,, the following morning my Sky Stream Puck started up as normal.

I was then away for a few days. I came back this morning, turned on my Sky Stream Puck and I was still getting the issue.

I spoke with Sky this morning, long story short, they are send out a new Sky Stream Puck. We'll see what happens. Hopefully the new Sky Stream Puck arrives tomorrow.

Do I need to swap everything over with the courier? Or can I just swap over Sky Stream Pucks? It seems pointless swapping over the HDMI Cable, Power Adapter and Sky Stream Remote.

Thanks in Advance

The courier will be wanting to see all your older kit returned, before handing over the replacement.

Best to swap over the lot.

You may get a v2 puck, rather than a V1 puck.

The power supply is different on the V2  puck compared to the V1.

Sky may send out either version, but best to be sure.

Note:

As mentioned on here before.

It is not a Gen2 puck, like the Sky Glass TV is an upgrade in specs to the Gen1 TV.

There is no expected performance difference to the current puck.

It is just a similar chipset from another supplier. Something many hardware manufacturers do to help steady supply chains.

You cannot request one as a replacement for your current puck and as far as we are aware there is no plan for any replacement of a current puck with this one.

The only physical difference is the different power supply.

We have been advised that at the moment, new customers will be sent one or the other

Hi @lettice

Interesting, in the past DPD just asked me to swap the box over, nothing else. On this occasion, I'll swap everything over.

If I receive a Version 2 Sky Stream Puck, in what way is the Power Adapter different?

Thanks in Advance

Hi @Barry+Mc+Kelvey I had a puck replaced in July.   I don't live on mainland UK so my puck was delivered by the post office on behalf of DPD.  I was handed the package and had to open it, inside was the packaging to send my old puck back again.  As suggested (by Sky I think) I took a photo of the postman holding the return puck as proof of the return.  Unlike taking it to the post office you do not get any proof of postage / return receipt.

I have never seen the power supply to the new puck but believe the profile is smaller so it is more likely to fit behind a wall mounted TV.  I don't know if the jack plug is the same but suspect it will be.

Hi

Thanks 🙂 I'd forgot that I had to take a photo of the courier. I'll maybe grad a still from my CCTV.

The replacement Sky Stream Puck, should be out for delivery tomorrow.

Thanks
