Sky Stream/Go - What channels in Ireland?
We're thinking of returning to Sky again. Sky Stream seems ideal for this (no satellite to deal with, and the broadband we have is good enough).
The issue is just this: I've gotten really used to only having one remote anymore, which controls my nvidia shield (Android box) which then lets me access youtube, plex and all sorts of streaming apps. I really don't want to add another box (the Sky Stream one) to the mix, which would then mean going from one remote to 3 (+ Sky Stream remote, +Samsung telly remote to switch channels). This is very... backwards.
So I'm wondering if Sky Go, which has an Android App, would be good enough. Then I could just keep using my Android box to access the Sky content.
It seems though that Sky Go has a different channel list (https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-go-channel-list) than Sky Stream (https://www.sky.com/help/articles/tv-channel-list-sky-glass-roi).
e.g. RTE One is available on Sky Stream for customers in the ROI, whereas it's only available on Sky Go in ROI if you are a "Sports Extra Customer".
Surely that's not accurate, right?

Re: Sky Stream/Go - What channels in Ireland?
The channel list on Go is not a duplicate of either the Stream or satellite EPGs: it's up to individual channel owners whether or not to have a presence in the app.
Given that Go is lower video definition and audio quality and you'd be paying Stream pricing anyway, not using a puck simply to avoid a remote would seem poor value for money.

Thanks for the info. I guess we'll skip it then. I really don't need another device for what could simply be an app (see Zattoo for example).

Sounds like Now TV from Sky would work better for you, totally app based if you prefer it that way?

Sky has always been a company with its own hardware. As @lettice indicates, app-only access to Sky content is through NowTV.
