Sky Sports UHD picture keeps stuttering

I've waited ages for a resolution and tried all suggestions, but still no joy.

I was giving it up till the end of this year before I decide to leave sky...

It's bad enough on 65" @GrandJames  and also for folks who are neurodivergent! Can understand your frustrations clearly😉

What other product requires a freqent power cycle or factory reset?

I get stuttering and "waiting for program to load", or picture pausing and restarting amongst others.

The No WIFI message is very popular despite ethernet connecton.

No such problems on my Amazon stick.

It would be nice if Sky could come clean and tell us what the problem actually is and timescales to fix - and some compensation.

Maybe a word with the press/media might get them to pull their finger out?

The issue with the sky stream puck is it was made by comcast for Xfinity. It is just a badged version of the X1 Xfinity stream box. The box wasn't made for sky stream exclusively. If you go in to certain apps such as the netflix app via sky stream and look at the software version you will even see X1 with the software version. The box is underpowered and built for mass market xumo platform in the USA primarily. It isn't fit for purpose

Sky have recently announced a large amount of redundancies within their innovation team, which means the prospect of any further exclusive sky products are very low. Everything will be designed and used within the whole comcast group to save money

Adding more weight to the argument, our Sky Glass unit is terrible for stuttering, the quality was like something from the 80's. 

Our Sony TV on a puck is slightly better. 

This needs sorting out.

At the risk of continually repeating earlier posts, just contact Sky and tell them the live  football with UHD is unwatchable and you're not prepared to keep paying due it. Get them to cancel it and use the NOWTV app with Sky sports and uhd upgrade. 

this bypasses the **bleep** sky puck as you can watch on any smart tv or Amazon fire stick and the issue of poor quality transmission is no longer a problem. 

NOWTV works perfectly for live sports with UHD. 

Stop moaning and take action. Even if you take out one month subscription, try it and you will see a massive difference in viewing quality. At least you have facts to go back to Sky with and get them to cancel your subscription for Sky sports. You can use the money to continue subscribing to NOWTV as a much better alternative. 

this worked perfectly for me and I'd welcome feedback from others who have done the same.

With respect I don't want to have a separate subscription for sky sports on Now TV when I have sky stream. Why should we ? Taking out a subscription for sports would be more expensive than the £20 I pay which includes UHD (free) and I want everything integrated, lastly the NoW TV sports feed is further behind sky stream

Because the sky puck can't cope with the feed. 

feel free to continue to watch glitchy sports via a subscription that isn't delivering due to the hardware sky provide. 

I'm just providing a working alternative that provides a solution.

The issue fully lies with Sky to sort out this issue, along with other problems with regards the Puck and it not being fit for purpose at the current time

I stupidly switched from NOWTV to Stream. NOW worked fine with live sport in UHD via a Roku stick. Has done for the past 6 months I had on a cheap contract. The cost was a bit more with Ultra Boost but I NEVER had stuttering or freezing like you get with the stream puck. It's clearly cheap trash. 
I'm going back to NOW and cancelling this Sky contract. The puck can go back in the bin. AWFUL. I don't care if it's extra seconds behind real time on NOW, I just want to watch the game without the distraction of stuttering or freezing, 

Can't believe I fell for this. I thought stream was going to be great but my god it's absolute guff. Send it back to America and let them have it. Sky UK need to design a system FOR THE UK - for people who care more about what they watch.
