Sky Sports UHD picture keeps stuttering

I am still not entirely convinced it's Q38 that has seemingly resolved the issue for me but the new puck hardware, this topic has been going since last April, how many software updates have there been in that time? Sky can say what they like about the pucks being effectively identical, there is a huge improvement in terms of performance and general speed in using the new one, my old puck was never this fast even brand new.

I would say this is definitely a hardware problem. I have a Sky Glass TV and a puck. The glass tv is further from my router ( still gets >300MPS) and runs perfectly viewing UHD. The puck gets 430mps down and 102 up with ping of 21 and is unwatchable. Watching UHD streams on my firestick is fine too.

Man U vs Fulham was perfect for me on channel 922. I agree that the new box provides a significant performance upgrade comparable to a phone upgrade rather than a software update.

And here we go again. Yesterday evening 922 was fine. This afternoon both 401 and 922 are giving me regular black screens on the Tottenham game despite reboots. What's changed? Nothing this end. Depressing. Frustrating. Waste of money.

Aswell as the stuttering on picture, do people also get the thing where the sound goes off for a few seconds, on Dolby atmos, then come back on, forcing your tv to flash up the "Dolby atmos" confirmation each time? Mine does this a lot during games.

Yes getting that as well @davidglen983  so count this to the list with problems for Sky to fix!!!  @JWestLondon  picture quality has been awful once again on both 401 and 922 with so much jumping 😞

@JWestLondon I was getting similar things happening, including, like black screen, sound cutting in and out, tried watching it on the premier league channel in uhd, which worked for a while, then the screen went blank for literally no reason and went back to the Home Screen with the option on the premier league channel to watch in ultra HD gone, at that point I gave up and started watching it on Now instead via an Apple TV puck which works fine

Usually you can tell when it's about to freeze up or do something bizarre, but these have been coming out of nowhere

That's happens on other UHD  channels ie movies , not only the sport channels .

@tvboy55 @I've only had it happen once a few months ago when I was watching a film in UHD, which I thought at the time was a bit strange as it had never happened before on anything apart from live sport

Decided I'd see how sky sports uhd was via now tv using the app on my tv, it's as smooth as it is on the Apple TV puck, no sound drop outs, no stuttering, no problems whatsoever, so kind of lays the blame with skys servers or the hardware as the same channels work fine everywhere else.

Clearly again issues are all to do with the puck and Sky @Flukes-Man . It's also working fine on Sky Go

@HavencroftKev  maybe certain folks think we will give up but don't think so.
