Sky Remote Turns on LG tv but doesn’t automatically bring up Sky Home Screen

Hi all,

I've seen similar to this issue but nothing quite right so hoping someone can help.

I've just got a new LG OLED tv, during set up I've got the SIMPLINK etc all set up correctly so I can turn on the TV and the Puck with the Sky remote but when the TV comes on, instead of being in Sky already, it's just on the LG TV Home Screen. I can see Sky as one of the input options to select so the signal is fine, but for some reason it doesn't automatically start in that HDMI input so I need to then use the LG remote so select it.
Thanks in advance!

This is a newish feature that LG tvs have. It allows you to set the tv to come onto the home page or last input. To change it so it starts on Sky Stream, you need to go into your TV settings and select general, system, additional settings and the home settings. This will allow you to configure your start up option @Muzzadam

@Muzzadam

What model TV is it?
I get the same thing at times with mine, it's a HDMI handshake issue with the TV rather that the Sky Puck. I can go days with it working just fine then all of a sudden it won't play ball. It'll even turn on my Apple TV box.

Is your HDMI control set to ON in the puck settings under Start up and standby section.

Seems there have been some issues with hdmi and LG TVs recently, with some posts in the community.

What is your model of LG?

It is Sky Q, but one recent thread on hdmi connection problems here, that might be worth a look;
