LG C4 has stopped recognising SKYQ box overnight

LG C4 has stopped recognising SKYQ box overnight!

I've tried changing HDMI ports but makes no difference . Screen is blank! (Yet the Q minis are working elsewhere)

My other devices show perfectly well , and even when I change these to different HDMI ports they still work!

No matter what I try it recognises it's SKY Q (west midlands but no sound or pic ) Help! (And yes, I've tried another HDMI cable)

Re: LG C4 has stopped recognising SKYQ box overnight

I have similar problems with a G4.
No amount of fiddling changing HDMI ports will help.
The TV and Q box have failed the handshake process and the only way of resolving it is to unplug the main Q box from the mains. Plug it back in with the TV on. That should solve it.

The trick going forward is to find the right sequence to switch things on. I find switching the TV on first, then Sky Q usually works, but it's still a bit of a lottery sadly.

By the way, your minis still work because there's nothing wrong with the main box from their point of view.
It's just the TV and main box not talking to each other correctly, something which has been happening one way or another since the launch of Sky Q. It won't ever be solved now the focus is on Stream.

Re: LG C4 has stopped recognising SKYQ box overnight

Well, it worked for 2 days! Now back to unplugging Sky Q again!

Would getting a 'better' HDMI cable help at all? Or is it simply a process that will never be resolved?

Are you running the latest firmware version 23.20.42? The G4 was originally released with HDMI 2 issues which they tried to resolve with subsequent updates but unfortunately for some users of SkyQ this introduced further problems.

Mine's the C4 running with the latest software, as I noticed it updated yesterday (although the issue persists before and after update)

My apologies as I misread your post and thought you had a G4 when you have a C4.

Have you tried a certified 2.1 hdmi cable?

I've had the C4 for a few werks now and nothings changed for me, when I had a Samsung tv it used to do the issue you have, the way round to fix it I found was to open Netflix on my my Firecube wait for the login sound and then go back Sky and the sound would work fine,

I'm not sure if my cables are HDMI 2.1 , but that could be my next purchase
