Sky Q remote on Sky stream?

Hi!

I'm currently without a remote for my stream puck but I had a Sky Q remote laying around and a Google search which linked to this forum told me that they do work in IR mode, however when I try to control the puck it only responds to the power and home buttons so the remote is definitely working and the puck is understanding some of the commands, the remote is an ECO60 model which is strictly infrared so it isn't in Bluetooth mode.

Is there a way to get it paired or has Sky patched it recently as those posts are quite a few years old, I'm fairly certain I'm on the latest version but I can't check without a working remote. 🙃

@tellybug Sky Q remotes did work with Strea,/Glass when they were first launched but it wasn't long before that compatibility was withdrawn, so the information you've found is somewhat out of date, I'm afraid.

Gotcha, I had a sneaking suspicion since only two buttons on the Q remote worked. As lettice mentioned I'll give the remote app a go and hopefully that'll do the job until I can source a replacement.

Kind of a shame that they did indeed patch it out, since I'd imagine with everyone upgrading from Q there'll be a lot of spare remotes lying around that could've served a new purpose as a spare or second remote.
