Hi,
I have Fibre 500 broadband, a gen1 Glass tv and 2 x pucks. Just ordered a Gen2 Glasstv.
I've had a lot of issues recently with basic terrestrial channels, freezing, not fast forwarding, going back to beginning or just chucking me out with on screen apologies.
Sky say my broadband speed is approx 512, when I run the speed test on Netflix it says 89.
Can anyone explain this coherently to a non tech person?
I have to say I'm getting little or no issues with mainstream apps, Disney, Apple, Netflix, Prime or Sky, all the issues relate to BBC, ITV, Channel4 &5, which unfortunately my Wife watches a lot of and makes my life a misery complaining about SKY, Glass, Streaming , Broadband etc.
She wants me to Chuck it all out and go back to Sky Q with a record feature that seemed to mostly work.
Help me fight this cause please, I don't want to go backwards.

Sky reports speed arriving at the Hub over optical fibre and ethernet cable, not WiFi from it.
89Mbs is entirely plausible on WiFi and should be more than necessary for a Glass television or Stream puck.
Note that you'd also only see a maximum of 100Mbs over ethernet because Glass has a 100-BaseT ethernet chipset.
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2

Re: Sky/Netflix speed tests
Thanks for that @TimmyBGood ,
that makes sense. Don't suppose you know why the terrestrial channels are so **bleep** through the Sky portal but are mostly OK via other streams eg Firestick?
I suspect it's largely because of the ads skipping through SKY. They need to monetise it or let ads play for income, Sky erodes this income stream. Cynical, I know but invariably "it's all about the money". 😂

The free to air channels via Sky are different streams to those received via the relevant broadcaster's app.
Sky's live channel streams are taken direct from the same feed that is sent via the satellite service and is therefore of a higher bit-rate and better quality than the iPlayer/ITVX/Channel 4/Five etc app streams.
All of Sky's live channel streams come from their own servers, hence are susceptible to server congestion at busy times.
