Sky Stream Puck stops working after 30 seconds
Hi,
I'm on my second Sky streaming puck. When trying to watch anything on the puck it stops streaming content after about 30 seconds. I have power cycled the puck, I have reset the puck by holding down the stand-by button during power-on and followed the reconfiguration steps after the lights have flashed. I have tried the puck on multiple makes of TV and I have also connected it via Ethernet, two different WiFi networks, and changed it's position in my house without any success. I don't have any streaming issues with any of the other devices. I don't believe the pucks are fit for purpose. Do these work for anyone?

Re: Sky Stream Puck stops working after 30 seconds
I had Stream for 2 years with little problems, as have many others on here. The puck needs a fast, and more importantly, stable connection. To start can you open Netflix (on the puck), go to the help section, settings, check network. That will give you the speed your puck is actually receiving

Netflix reports a Speed of 158.51Mbps, it has connected to 2.4G network rather than the 5G network. Network statistics from the router show it has a download throughput of around 229Mbps. Latency at the WAN connection is 9ms.

That speed should be way more than enough. It is possible you've just been unlucky and been sent two dodgy pucks. You could ring Sky yet again and see if they can help further. Just out of interest who is your isp?

Steaming is not stable though. It steamed for around 10 minutes and then stopped. It now refuses to stream, even after a restart.

ISP is also Sky. No issues with any other device in the house. Xbox's, PCs, Mac's, Steaming Apps on LG and Sony TVs, on-line meetings all work. Just Sky Stream Pucks.

If that's the case it sounds like you've got an iffy puck...... again!
