No. Most definitely not. It differs between apps and is generally slow and glitchy.

Personally i've never had any issues with fast forwarding of ads on Sky Stream.

The experience will vary depending on the on-demand app being used. For instance on the C4 app, one click of the right or left button will skip 10 seconds of ads, and you need to long press right or left to skip at a faster rate. If you are a subtitle user, there is a bug with the C4 app, that if you fastforward until the end of the ads, and don't let the last few seconds play, when the show resumes it resets the subtitle setting and will turn them off.

For ITV X, the experience is a bit odd as sometimes no ads are played during the inserted ad break, you get a blank screen instead which ends after one press of fast forward button. Even during a set of ads, 3 presses of fast forward puts it on the fastest speed and it typical takes no more than 15 seconds for it to fast forward the inserted ads and return to the show.

I think it works well on Sky on-demand content, or on "cloud recorded" shows (this is where the show has been recorded by Sky from a live broadcast). Whilst it can appear clunky doing the 30x fast forward speed on these shows ( because they are all stored on the cloud), this is where i find the voice control works really well as you can just say "fast forward 3 minutes" and it will skip forward 3 minutes.

In general I think it works quite really on the ITV X app, is sufficient for Sky on-demand and cloud recorded shows but it does annoy me the way it works on the C4 app.

We've found subtitles go out of sync with the audio after the first few advert breaks are FF in any particular item of content

Personally, I've found it's better to pay for Channel 4+, ITVX Premium and NOW Entertainment with Boost and watch them via my Apple TV 4K box. That way the ads are removed completely and you don't need to fast forward anything. Much more reliable with subtitles too.
