Settings button

Any chance we can have the settings and the other 4 buttons higher up on the home page, rather than having to scroll half way down and in between different lines

Whilst not what you're asking with regards the Home Screen, Settings can be quickly accessed by pressing the three dots ... button and picking the the Settings button from there. Quicker than scrolling all the way down to the Settings button on the homepage.

Doesn't help with the other buttons on the same rail as Settings on the home page though.

I know what you mean @Super+Anthony .  I don't usually use the rail as it is easier to use the voice control (except for search) on my remote but I have just checked and the settings/MySky rail is 14 rows down the screen this morning..

You can as already advised by @CoffeeDrinker use the button with the 3 white dots to access some options including Search & Settings

Re: Settings button

Thanks both of you, very helpful, just wish and it would make common sense to move them to the top. Sky probably want I to go through everything before getting to it

Different ways to get to the settings menu;
Hit the . . . button on your remote and select settings, use voice saying 'settings' or scroll down to the settings menu on the home menu.

Agreed @Super+Anthony .  I know it's not possible to edit the home screen but if it was I would remove almost all the rows, keeping only about 6 or 7 of them.

Re: Settings button

@Fothergill1 Or maybe giving us a choice of how we want to have it? It's also too clustered and far too much stuff on the home page

I think the top layout rails, about ten is generally ok, with the odd larger promotion upfront of one to three tiles in a single rail, for a new announcement or promotion.
Like the recent start of F1, football season and the announcement of the upcoming Disney+/HBO/Hayu apps offering.

What does look odd and can seem excessive is the lower 30-45 themed rails.

But then I generally ignore them.

They all act as promotional rails for Sky and third party content and expect for many customers it's another beneficial way to find content.
I'm sure Sky would not bother with them and provide such regular themed thought behind the tilted and content within those rails, if they were not working for the promotion of their own content as well as for third parties.

Agreed - there must be engagement metrics Sky have which is showing the benefit of these additional promotional rails ( as much as I don't like them and tend to ignore them). As it wouldn't make sense investing time and effort in curating them if hardly everyone was engaging with them.

Re: Settings button

I get your point but there is no reason why the settings button etc are placed half way down in between rails. As pointed out by others, it would be more suitable higher up. It's all a bit of a muddle the set up as is

Re: Settings button

The simplist is surely just to say Settings into the voice button.

Re: Settings button

There are some who don't for whatever reason use voice. The simplest way would be to tidy up the home page 😉😉

Re: Settings button

If you don't want to use voice method

The quickest method to access settings on Sky Glass or Sky Stream

The Sky Glass and Sky Stream remote controls

The remote control click the 3 dots button . . .  and then click settings

3 dots button is located just below the power button
