QS034 Airplay Sky Stream

Morning all, hope you are well.

With the new update, on some links, it says that if you have Sky Stream, one can use AirPlay, but other messages say its only Sky Glass

Shame we can't get it on stream as some customers have their own quality TV's!

I did have a very pleasant call with someone from Sky and they have fed this back to management

Hopefully they will realise it's a mistake, just like when they brought glass out at the beginning, they realised it was an error just to provide steam on glass only and quickly made it available for all

Love the new update with adskipping though

Most tvs these days have airplay built in so I'm guessing this is the reason why it's on Sky Stream.

@BarmySpartan I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for Airplay to be available on the Stream puck as it is not likely to ever be a happen.  Modern TVs all have this feature so the expectation is that you will use you TV for any airplay/mirroring etc.  I frequently use airplay on my TV.

Still completely agree! It wouldn't even be hard to add, it's not like they'd need to add new hardware!

Although I'd welcome it @PortableCarrot, I think Sky have bigger fish to fry with other aspects of the core TV experience and they're probably making the assumption that most TVs being sold by the major players have it built into the TV now. It's the same basic reason why the aerial port doesn't work on Puck in the UK, they're assuming the TV does that already so there's no point in supporting it.
