So now we're back to "not many people have the problem so it must by their own fault." If they have a problem they should just ignore it.

We can presume then that nothing is being done about it.

This is definitely Sky's problem and they should fix it no matter how many are affected. We pay plenty for a service and it should work properly. If you were to buy an item in a shop and it turned out to be faulty you could not be refused a refund or replacement on the basis that not many customers had had a problem

@squareeyeschris I never suggested it is the individuals fault, as I said I get the pixelation and I certainly don't think my setup is to blame.

I note that Sky Sport seems to be one of the main areas where people are experiencing the pixelation which is possibly why I don't see it as often as some subscribers as I cancelled Sport at the end of last year as it was getting too expensive.

I'm not sure why you would assume that Sky are doing nothing about it.  Quite the contrary, I am aware from the superusers forum that Sky treat all issues seriously and are endeavouring to get them fixed as quickly as possible.  Some issues have certainly been ongoing for a while but that doesn't mean nothing is being done to find a solution.

Re: Picture Intermittently Pixelating - Many Channels

The Red button on F1 has been useless as well and once again the Sky puck is not functioning correctly today. Tried to use the timings button and it just had an endless spinning wheel. I do wish Sky would sort everything out.

@Anonymous   I watch live sports in UHD a lot including the low latency channel. I personally haven't had a single issue with pixelling

Re: Picture Intermittently Pixelating - Many Channels

For those of you late to this thread we earlier on in thread essentially had a watch party where lots of us all watched the same channel and saw the same pixilation at the same time. I'm sorry Sky and some of you "super users" , who clearly spend a lot of time looking down at your phones/laptops  on this forum  and not at the actual tv screen and who claim never to have seen the issues and blame individuals WiFi and set up,  YOUR claim is simply false! Its happening! Its happening to multiple people at the same time. Sky clearly have some broadcasting issues and in addition to that their pucks are cheap and nasty mass produced rubbish not fit for the purpose they were made for in many homes.

Re: Picture Intermittently Pixelating - Many Channels

I agree @DuckieBoos. there are clear issues that have been noticed by several customers and Sky need to sort this out

Happened in the F1 and now the football on UHD

The pucks need to be updated and at present not working correctly

@Super+Anthony  A new version of the Glass TV is well overdue.  Sky are currently selling 2021 technology at 2024 prices and the TV was only mediocre at best in 2021.

As you mention an updated Stream Puck would also be well received but whether or not it would solve the software issues is another debate.

Sky Glass 2 delayed by a year (according to a Sky store representative I spoke to the other day).

Re: Picture Intermittently Pixelating - Many Channels

I am not sure that there will be a V2 of Sky Glass.

Skys owner Comcast have launched Xumo Tv in the USA, which is made by Hisense, it's akin to the type of tv made by Polaroid and Bush in Supermarkets.

I think sky will not make another Glass and stick with Sky Stream or simply licence the Sky Entertainment OS software within existing tv's a bit like Freely have done.

So much easier to licence the software to established tv manufacturers. The margins that sky make on the Glass TV's I understand were very poor

Re: Picture Intermittently Pixelating - Many Channels

@Jason+Golding They therefore need to fix the current puck then. Easy solution

Re: Picture Intermittently Pixelating - Many Channels

@Super+Anthony The pucks are not made by sky, they are made by Xfinity (Comcast company). The Entertainment OS is jointly made by Sky and Comcast. You have to understand that sky are no longer a singular company but a company within a much much bigger media company.  The stream box will not be changed until the Comcast group make another box. It may be possible to fix the issues via software upgrades. But like I said before, the box works fine for the vast majority, can you categorically state that the issue isn't with your set up or ISP?
