Number buttons not working on home screen?

Hi,

I've just switched my mum over to Sky Stream. Setup went well, but we've noticed that the number buttons on the remote don't work to switch to a channel unless you're actually playing a channel. For example, when the box boots the home screen loads but the buttons don't work. Even if you go to the TV guide section the buttons don't work. When a channel is playing, they work fine so it doesn't feel like a hardware fault.

Is there anything I'm missing? Has anyone found any workarounds? I know she can just use voice to go to what she wants or use the favourites / guide to open a channel then press the numbers, but it just feels a bit clumsy, especially given that anecdotally most other TV setups allow for this. At the moment this is a bit of change in behaviour from what she's used to so it would be great if there was a way to make it work.

Cheers.

Re: Number buttons not working on home screen?

On the homepage press once to the left, that will land you on the last viewed channel, twice the channel before etc etc. Just press on that and use the numbered buttons as normal.

Re: Number buttons not working on home screen?

@BenMR   Yes Stream can get a bit of getting used to.  Unlike SkyQ you have to navigate around the main screen by using the arrow keys around the main button, then as you have discovered once you go onto the TV Guide and select a channel the number keys work.  Also as you say there is the voice button which works very well.  So don't worry there is nothing wrong with your remote.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

From the a Home Screen, go left on your remote select button  and it will show your last visited linear TV channels, apps, or On demand pick.

Might be another way to help and familiarise starting at at a linear TV channel.
