In have looked at the instructions for changing batteries on new sky remote but despite following instructions am unable to open sky remote as front and back seem to be glued firmly together. Any ideas?

Re: New sky remote impossible to change batteries
- Remove the back cover of the remote by sliding the cover down. Follow the direction of the small arrow symbol on the back of the remote.
Put it between your hands and push firmly in opposite directions. Or try on a cushion. It can be very stiff to begin with but will ease after the first few times.

Some have mentioned on here wearing a pair of rubber gloves or the Marigold type works well and make a good grip for the stiff remote control removal of the back cover.

Re: New sky remote impossible to change batteries
Thank you so much for advising me what to do. I was sceptical i would ever be able to open the sky remote but then out of the blue there was an open "sesame" moment and it all changed. Thank you!!

Re: New sky remote impossible to change batteries
Putting the remote between the palm of your hands, actually works first go, my husband was trying everything but it would not budge great 👍 advice.

Re: New sky remote impossible to change batteries
They should address this. Can you imaging your grandmother trying to deal with this?
When I received my box, the tab that enables the batteries that you pull out broke, and I had a heck of a time figuring out how to open it - and I'm a geek! I did eventually, but I can't imagine an elderly person doing it, especially if they have arthritis.

@SkyNewbee I quite agree, the elderly (sadly I am one) will really struggle to remove the back. I got my first tream remote about 3 years ago and what I did when I eventually got it off was to take a nail file and rounder off the retaining clips ever so slightly and I have not had any difficulty since.
