Re: New Sky OS

@KevNewMedia

Hi Kev

this also happened to me, it was on my sky stream home page, when I tried to click it nothing happened so I rebooted the puck and since then there has been no sign of the invite, I've also not seen it in the sky VIP section of the my sky app since the other day either

can you help me out please?

Re: New Sky OS

Question! Why's Sky even bothering with a public test like this? Don't they normally just drop stuff unannounced when they feel like it?

Re: New Sky OS

Hi @GD1 @KevNewMedia

Just out of curiosity, if the trial invite shows up on a Sky Stream Puck, would it also show up in the My Sky App?

The reason I ask, I'm away from home so therefore I can't check my Sky Stream Puck. I can only check the My Sky App.

Thanks in Advance

Barry 🙂

@JAYCEE123  If you have not received an invite you can't request to be added, Sky are selecting Testers at random.

Re: New Sky OS

I had the same. Sky really are ridiculous. I spent hours on the online chat asking why it hasn't been updated. They told me to reset the whole box. I lost all my logins and that message about OS wasn't appearing anymore. Eventually they told me the puck was broken so sent me a new one. If I'd have realised the answers in these threads then I would have known I didn't need to do all this. I've lost some favourite channels I had saved that are hidden (some of the skysports UHD channels that were only accessible through my favourites as they're no longer a channel number). I've wasted so much time with outsourced Sky customer services and they literally know nothing! Wish I'd seen this thread. Would have saved me the agro. I've checked skyVIP and can't see the offer. I'm in the sky go beta so annoying I'm not in this and even more annoying that they put the new OS stuff on your homepage when you can't use it! Anyone know if the sky sports multiview is also part of this as I can't seem to use that either?

Re: New Sky OS

If Sky is your only source for content and you're not generally a beta tester your best staying away from this until Sky have tested and ironed out issues. Better to receive the final release and then play with it when more stable.

Re: New Sky OS

Yes it's odd for Sky to do beta testing. They normally drop an update then leave it for the users to flag all the problems and then spend weeks updating everyone with a fix.

Re: New Sky OS

The Sky Go app is receiving regular updates on beta so if you have that it will give you a general idea of where Sky OS is heading. Sky must do beta testing it's kind of industry standard, I think it's quite refreshing that they've opened up an opportunity for the everyday customer to opt in should they wish.

Before I get another warning!

I'm not being critical but I hope Sky will take the opportunity to clear these niggling bugs and add functionality that customers have been screaming out for over these past few years.

We just have to wait and hope 🤞🏻
