That's exactly what is happening with mine. So frustrating. No point in watching anything on 5. I can't believe Sky aren't fixing this with so many complaints

I have the same problem with the My5 App,  Black screen, and freezes.  I have to unplug the device to get it back working.  Unwatchable.  One thing to note is that it seems to be more prevalent on my second box and not so much the primary Sky Q box.

Same problem using the My5 app through the SKY stream and puck (watching the Castaways in particular) where it almost every time fails following an add break ( the add incidentally breaks up) then defaults to black screen and freezes. BUT and a big BUT if I watch the same programme on my same Samsung TV using it's own My5 app I don't experience a problem and no advert breakup.

 

just another example of a TV service from SKY that has issues........ have had nothing but problems since I moved from Virgin in July 2024.  Contract termination pending this year.

I think it's a Sky problem too as I never had this on Virgin but it's every time I watch channel 5 on Sky.

Is there an update on this? I notice this was over a month ago and Channel 5 is still unwatchable. I can't ever get past the first ad break.

No update and doubt will be anytime soon, only appears to be the sky puck, as the 5 app is fine on my other devices

The problem is still ongoing every advert it locks up and has  being doing this for months . Surely it should be fixed by now !

It happens to us nearly every programme after an advert break and has done for months occasionally it crash's the TV. We end up turning off but sometimes it takes multiple attempts to watch a programme it's now at the point where we try to avoid channel 5. Sky and My5 clearly know about the issue but don't seem to of done anything. We pay a lot for Sky and expect better service than this.

Exact same issue! I have never experienced so many technical issues than I have since getting sky glass it is absolutely beyond a joke now! just when one issue gets fixed. It's like the next one starts and your back to square one looking at the forum with no idea how long it will take to fix

Il add my name to the list, only been back with sky for 3 weeks and this app is ruining the experience, looks like this thread goes back quite some time so its dissapointing that no fix seems to be on the horizon. Im bow using the app through my lg tv as its quicker to watch the ads than try and use the app on sky stream with my paid for ad skip.

I have the same problem, taken all the steps to no avail but like you, the 5 app is fine on a firestick. So it is very clearly a sky problem and their interface with the app. I have found ff for a second or two then going back to play pause starts it again but it is very annnoying. I cannot face the usual obfuscation from sky where they blame everyone but themselves so do not want to ring them. Are we anywhere near to a resolution sky?

I have seen your post, the most current one. But that was two months ago. Does Sky not consider this important enough to resolve, after all we are all still paying our subs? It surely cannot take 6 months to resolve this, unless, of course, it is not given any priority and the subs keep coming in? It really isn't good enough. Can you now update the situation please?

Can you tell us what you did? Is there a way to uninstall and reinstall? Seems to me like Sky don't care as long as we keep paying. Business as usual.

Rip off merchants!

Apparently my sky wifi isnt good enough so my puck won't work properly but have they offered me any solutions NO THEY HAVE NOT!

WHY NOT?????
