My5 App: Freezing

Why does my whole sky stream go caput after using the channel 5 app.

Cannot turn off tv with remote or get any channels it just freezes up completely. This keeps happening WHY?

Thank you for highlighting this problem, and thanks for tagging me @63johnw .

Our support teams are investigating the problem and when we have more information, we'll let you know.

 

In the meantime, it would be handy if you are able to tell us if there's a particular advert or area of the app that causes it to freeze. Please continue to add any examples into the thread.

To understand the extent of this issue, I've merged some posts into the one thread. I'll be marking the thread as answered, so that anyone new to the thread knows we're working on it, and they don't have to read every post.

Channel 5 issues with streaming

How can the issue of channel 5 playbacks be resolved? Freezes at adverts then have to log out then back in...

Have been experiencing same problem amongst others over passed weeks..... it's rather boring now so say the least

Same here, watching the Lost Symbol via the 5 streaming app when it comes to an add break I fast forward (I have add skipping) and when it comes to the end of the add break it freezes on a black screen. Not every time but it seems to be most times. If I then rewind a little and then press play it continues in to the program. @KevNewMedia

The dorito ad used to cause a problem to 5 app but any adverts seem to cause a blackout now. It has become unwatchable so only use it on terrestrial tv.

Sky need to get this sorted or 5 does.

Yes same for me and it's driving me nuts! Screen goes black nothing works via the remote. TV is turned off but Sky box still live. It's unwatchable
