My sky puck desplays the software needs to resart
Tried to hard star the puck but still displays on the tv software needs to restart press update but the same message keeps being desplayed

@Gismo1 Can you see the TV guide on the puck or did you go through a full reset (which you should never do)?

@Gismo1 If it keeps going through that loop you'll need to call Sky to resolve the issue

Are you sure this message is being displayed by the puck and not by your actual TV?
Have you tried using your TV's remote control (not the Sky remote) to get rid of it or to perform a software update on the TV itself?

@BenJoBanjo Good thinking, that's certainly a possibility. I had an update software message appear on my Samsung TV screen recently but by the time I realised it was the TV software and not the puck the message had disappeared. I went into my TV settings and sure enough there was an update waiting to be installed.

It does sound more like this is your smart TV, asking you to update the TV software, rather than the Sk6 Stream Puck itself.
You will need to use your original TV remote to hit OK on the message to update the tv software.
The puck itself does not actually ask normally for any update of software, unless you are stuck on a setup or factory reset screen.
Any chance you can upload a picture of what you are seeing?
