Multiple content rails added below settings rail today

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

Noticed today, thirty rails have appeared on my Sky Stream,  below the Settings rail.

Heard it's also same on Sky Stream.

Do think the Settings, Search, MySky rail, should always be the last and bottom rail.

Its kind of OTT in my view.

All those individual rails should I think be placed under/within the TV Shows, Movies, Sports, Kids, News, Audio and Music, Fitness, International sections.

Having that many upfront, puts you off scrolling...

Re: Last few days, technical fault with channel, disney plus etc works.

Why are Sky changing layout on TV when they should be fixing issues because the now have a Best of Sky rail & when you scroll down to settings they have rails of different categories after Settings , Search etc

@ScottishClaymore I wish the Search and Settings options were moved to the top of the screen. It makes far more sense and is more user friendly to have them there than at/near the bottom as they are now.

It's the same on Stream as well. That is a lot of rails after the settings rail.

Hi @Anonymous

Having moved from Sky Q to Sky Stream almost two weeks now, I totally agree with you. I'd love to see Settings next to Playlist, on the very first rail.

I guess rather than scrolling to the bottoms, the quickest option is, to use Voice Control and say Settings.

Barry 🙂

@lettice  Well spotted, I don't usually go any further down than the Apps rail so hadn't seen them.  They could be quite useful but I suspect they will soon disappear.

Yes, same, so the additional rails don't really matter to me one way or the other. I rarely use them anyway to find content that might appeal.

@Barry+Mc+Kelvey I don't use voice control. I found it more frustrating than helpful.

I don't mind the extra rails, makes no difference really.

In my opinion those extra rails are really unhelpful as they are so far down the screen how many people would actually scroll down that far.

I would prefer the Home screen to be as clutter free as possible. Quite happy for sky to have a couple of interchangeable rails based on what content they have decided to push/recommend but would say any of these additional ones would be far more at home on the sub menus for Movies/TV Shows etc for those that wish to view them.

Re: Multiple content rails added below settings rail today

I think I'm with you all on this one .  It is just too much.  We have the bar near the top by the Playlist if we want to search TV, Movies, Sport, Kids , News, etc.  Put them all in there, nice and neat and tidy.  I doubt I will ever go all the way down there to search. It just makes it all feel a little cheap & cluttered.

Re: Multiple content rails added below settings rail today

Not great for people who are Neurodivergent and clutter and too much information is overwhelming.

Also having settings muddled or mixed in the middle is not helpful and user friendly

Sky - have you taken this into consideration?

(Please Note: I am Neurodivergent )

I barely ever go past the playlist & TV Guide area as I could find whatever I wanted there, don't see the point of all the extra rails to be honest.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Typically because user interface design is different team to those working on the back end (of any software platform)
