just by way of final update :

 

community is correct, sky experts wrong... turned on today and suddenly there's a continue watching bar - which is synced across all my pucks once i started watching something.

I have this exact issue however struggling to find these setting are they on the sky TV interface?

Thats because its not a setting on the TV interface, its in the Data and Personalation section of your My Sky account https://www.sky.com/mydetails
