Moving from Sky Q to Puk

Hi

I am taking over my mum's Sky Account as she has moved into a care home. I was offered Sky Puk for £42 or £43 a month with fibre and basic TV. What is Puk like compared to Sky Q? The only other option is to cancel and move to Virgin media which offered my a tempting deal. Decisions Decisions

The product is Sky Stream, and the hardware is a 'puck'

The key differences with Q are the complete reliance on internet connectivity, no need for a satellite dish and the absence of local recording: there's also a substantial difference in channel availability.

Stream is designed as a streaming on-demand platform. A bit like a firestick.

You still have an epg tv listings guide and can stream live tv over the internet connection.

However, no programmes are recored on the box (unlike Q) instead, you can either just watch them on-demand, without having to worry about when they were broadcast and/or add the series you want to watch to your 'playlist' and it keeps track of what episode and series you are up to.

All very clever and neat. It is the way forward as sky no longer sell satellite television (sky q) new subscribers only get offered stream.
(it is possibleto be a new Q customer, but not made easy)

It is a different way of watching telly, takes a little while to adapt.

A couple of drawbacks, if you internet fails, you get no live tv via stream.
Not all tv stations on sky q are available on stream all the +1 channels and talking pictures tv, for example.
