Microwave stops puck working
I have a TV and puck in my kitchen . When the microwave is on, the screen goes blank. Sometimes in then comes back on when the microwave stops. Sometimes not!
Any way to stop this?

Don't use the microwave?

Re: Microwave stops puck working
It's also conceivable that the electronics in the microwave (which is typically at least a kilowatt of power demand) is doing nasty things to the mains.

Re: Microwave stops puck working
Connect the puck via Ethernet instead of WiFi, that should prevent the pixel wave from interfering.

Re: Microwave stops puck working
MIcrowaves emit a lot of interference close to the 2.4Ghz frequency range used by WiFi. If there's any way you can split your WIFi networks and connect the puck to the 5Ghz network instead, that should solve the problem (assuming WiFi interference is the cause)

Re: Microwave stops puck working
My puck does the exact same thing with our microwave running. So the filtering on the puck is nonexistent. None of the other wifi devices are affected.

Re: Microwave stops puck working
@JimTaylor if the puck was shielded against the microwaves with 2.4GHz frequency thst your oven uses to heat food it couldnt receive the 2.4GHz wifi signals your router ouputs. The issue why it is more affected than other devices is probably a combination of location and streaming video is very sensitive to interference disrupting the data stream.
Microwave ovens have to meet strict leakage standards as not suprisingly the microwaves that can cook meat are not something that is good for people nearby if they leak. Leakage can be caused by faulty door seals or just general age but are not a good sign.
