Live F1 - Flashing black screen
So I'm having issues with the f1 channel. it starts repeating a part of the programme. going black then restarting a bit from seconds before on a loop and Im having to change the channel to stop it. it keeps losing picture and sound. and pixelating as if the Internet isn't strong enough. it is only happening on this channel.

Re: f1 channel issues
I had this when I was watching it yesterday. I put it down to satellite issues between Bahrain and UK causing glitches because I wasn't experiencing it on any other channel. But I might be wrong, especially if it continued to happen today.

Re: f1 channel issues
I was watching Session 1 this morning on F1 UHD and the picture was very stable. They were having power issues at the circuit yesterday though which caused a red flag due to a power cut.

Re: f1 channel issues
Still having it this morning and it's more the repeating/looping of small parts of the programme that require a channel change to resolve it. That has happened on other sports channels. 😞

Re: f1 channel issues
@Rachw1out of interest are you watching the UHD channel? Does switching to the HD one have these issues?

Re: f1 channel issues
Ok that's interesting because I was on UHD so because it's happening on both channels it might suggest it's be a broadcast issue rather than Stream.
But then again you did say that switching channel fixed it which is at odds with that.
I'll be watching it a bit later today so I'll see if I can spot anything useful.

Re: f1 channel issues
Same here. I'm hoping it's a signal issue as they're broadcasting from Bahrain?
But should this even be happening? For the amount we pay, this issue should have a fix by now - its been happening since the first test run on Wednesday. Every hour or so I have to switch off and on again. I swear, there's always something going wrong with Sky's F1 broadcast every race!

Re: f1 channel issues
Not seen this issue at all on my Sky Stream puck.
Been watching the Sky Sports F1 UHD channel since 7am.
Was watching for long periods last few days also on both morning and afternoon test sessions and saw no issues.
So, I cannot see it being any kind of broadcasting issue.
Would suggest for those having issues, do a restart of your Sky Stream puck.
Go to Settings>Systems Management>Resets & Updates
Select Restart device
Your Sky Stream puck will perform a reboot. It will take a few minutes to complete

Re: f1 channel issues
Maybe it's just the HD channel? Same as OP, I've also been watching it on the HD channel. Strange.

Re: f1 channel issues
Can you please report this issue to the Sky VR team, stating it's Sky Stream and you only have a hd sub (no uhd) and/or getting this problem watching on Sky Sports F1 HD or if you have been watching it sometimes on the Sky Spirts Main Ec
vent channel.
With some rough timings of the error occurring, that may help diagnose further.

Re: f1 channel issues
Just to add that I'm seeing this from time to time on the HD and UHD channel but on Sky Go on my Apple TV I haven't spotted it yet. So I think it must be a Stream thing afterall. I'll email viewerr@sky.uk as suggested

This is a video recording of what's happening on the Sky F1 channel. This was during the Toleman documentary, so not to do with the live broadcast of the testing sessions afterall.

Re: f1 channel issues
Yes, it happened again (maybe twice) during the Toleman docu also.
Changing the channel restores the picture, but not the sound, until I change it back again. Turning the puck off and on works. I tried waiting while it was glitching to see if it would restore itself, but to no avail.

Re: f1 channel issues
I have the exact same issue on the Sky F1 channel. All three pucks on different AV/TV setups face the issue that the OP describes.
The only reason I have Sky is for the Formula 1, so it's a real issue.
Sky's solution is to replace one puck which I am willing to bet will make no difference (they are only a month old).
The fact that changing channel fixes the issue temporarily tells me this is a software fault. I don't have this issue on Sky Go and we never had this on Sky+.
Has anyone found a solution?
