@MonkeyFeet On my first call to $ky support that's what they told me to do when they were on the telephone. Still couldn't get HDR or Atmos on House of Dragons. Tried Amazon and got both HDR and Atmos. Back to $ky Atlantic and it had reverted to 1080, so had to go back into settings and input for UHD. It was on my second call to support a week or so later that I was told it was all the fault of my Denon AVR and Panasonic TV.
If you want to cancel you're not in a contract per se but in a rolling subscription. You can cancell at any time with a 31 day notice, which is another scam really with $ky as you can cancel immediately with all other subscription services. It's just a way of $ky getting another month's money out of you.
If you compare Apple TV to $ky Stream, well it's really no comparison in reality, one works and one doesn't. Apple has better picture quality and certainly better sound quality and all other UHD channels on Apple, such as Disney, also has full Atmos and HDR yet you can drop in and out of subscription, unlike $ky.

Well that's me cancelled , still think is criminal that they are taking on new subs knowing that this problem exists.

See people still have an issue with this is unreal. But last week I solved the issue I'm having with the lip sync issues
How I got it to work.
I have a Samsung Q series TV with the Samsung Q60 sound bar which both devices support ARC and eARC which both support dolby atoms sound, but I didn't set mine up this way.... Turned out I made the mistake and set mine up with optical wire which doesn't support dolby atmos (or dolby sound) , as soon as I used a HDMI 2.1 wire and connected them both into the correct HDMI eARC sockets on both sound bar and TV my lip sync issues have now gone.
I have waited a week. Watched multiple UHD shows on both sky sports and TNT sports (also standard shows which don't use dolby) and the issue is fully gone. The other issue is if your TV doesn't support dolby atmos but states dolby sound it still won't work. We have another Samsung TV slightly older but states dolby sound and not atmos and the issue with lip syncing still occurs.
During my dealings with sky to get this issue solved no one has stated optical wire doesn't work or TV has to be dolby atmos, in which I was told dolby sound was required.
I hope this helps others, for me it was a simple wire change.

What TV are you using.
Something sky fail to mention is you need a TV that supports dolby atmos, if you have a sound bar that supports it but a TV that doesn't the the dolby atmos will not work. And lip syncing issues will happen.
This worked for me. If your TV states dolby sound it WILL NOT work as dolby sound and dolby atmos are competely different
If your device isn't supported then head to settings and then picture and sound. Choose digital audio output hdmi, and choose either PCM stereo or Passthrough.
Unfortunately sky hasnt been very forward with helping with this issue. But every time I call up they state TV must have dolby sound with a dobly sound bar, which is false information as my other TV has both dolby sound and still doesn't work. The main requirement is dolby atmos if not it will not work.

@Rich5707 I don't know what Sky told you but their maximum audio output on Stream or SkyQ is SD Dolby Digital Plus. The Plus is important because it's to this format that the Atmos metadata is attached. You need an AVR or soundbar capable of decoding the Atmos metadata and can only be carried by ARC, or eARC. In the case of streaming services eARC is pretty irrelevant as eARC is designed via HDMI to transport full HD audio such as Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD MA. To pass through any TV with an Atmos soundtrack then that TV must be Atmos capable.
Digital optical allows a maximum of SD Dolby Digital 5.1 and is fully supported by Stream and Q. Almost all UHD presentations on streaming services such as Apple TV, Netflix and Disney support Atmos as their main soundtrack, unlike Sky where they are still light years behind on both UHD and Atmos.

I think Kaleidescape stream Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD MA - it's pretty pricey though.

@Skull+Treaty The streaming box is, I believe, around £1300. It only streams movies at a cost of £30 each and is firmly aimed at those with a full surround audio system. You can get UHD players, a Panasonic UB9000 for under £1000 or a Magnetar UDP800 for £1400 so it's competitely priced for those that want the ease of finding a film and saving on the space needed to keep discs. I wager that those people who own one will not be reliant on eARC from TV to a soundbar, more likely than not the box would be fed directly into an AV amp.
Personally I prefer my hard copies of both films and music and use a Pioneer LX500 for film and multi channel SACD playback. New blu-ray players are getting as rare as hen's teeth as streaming of films gets better and it seems that it's in that direction that film playback is headed. At the moment those with good surround sound systems are still reliant on players for a superior image and audio quality. That's at odds with stereo SACD players that have a healthy representation with a good number of players available and I believe CD sales are increasing due to the price of vinyl and poor quality LPs.

I'd been battling this problem for weeks. Watching BBC1 and synch was badly out. I tried going to the tv guide, choosing another programme then went back to the guide and selected BBC1 agin. It worked...perfect synch.

@BubbyGee thanks for your reply I have tried this, it doesn't last, lip sync gradually goes out of sync again. Its amazing Sky don't pick up on this with the amount of issues that are reported in Community. I would advise I dont have any of these issues with my Amazon streaming fire stick.
