Give it a reboot. Sky supposedly sent out a fix last night but you need to do a power cycle to re-connect to the server for the update.

Re: Image quality on Netflix August 2025

I'm am in my third restart. No change so far. Still buffers every 20 seconds or so. Absolutely worst service I have ever experienced.

Hi @Obelisk Your issue is not the same as the one being discussed in this thread which concerns poor picture quality on the Netflix App. An update was released last night so people are being advised to restart their puck for the update to take full effect.  A reboot is unlikely to resolve your continuously buffering problem.

One of the main reasons for buffering or freezing is the quality and speed of the Wi-Fi signal being received at the TV/puck and not that being received at the router.  This can be checked with the Netflix App (Get help > Check network) and is often much less than you might expect. The minimum speeds  recommended by Sky are as follows:

HD = 25mbps

UHD = 30mbps

HD + 1 puck = 30mbps

UHD + 1 puck = 35mbps

These speeds assume there is nothing else in your home using up your WiFi bandwidth.

If your speed at the TV is borderline try connecting via Ethernet cable. If this is not practical you can use powerline adapters (about £40 at Amazon). Note the Ethernet port on the Glass TV (& pucks) only supports 100mbps so don't waste money on the more expensive 1gb powerline adapters

Re: Image quality on Netflix August 2025

Thank you, a comprehensive answer. I had the same issue with Netflix on picture quality but have just ignored Netflix. Appreciate buffering is a separate issue, it impacts all streaming services. I have the top fibre offering. The Sky app says there is no problem with broadband or WiFi while the puck says there is no signal. Very frustrating- but switching off and on again (same solution) seems to have worked. Sole occupant, no gaming.

This patch hasn't worked for me.

Re: Image quality on Netflix August 2025

I switched the puck (and tv) off and back on again 3 times before my streaming issue was resolved. Checked Netflix and the picture quality is resolved as well. Can only suggest switching on and off a couple of times, or even switch it off at the router. Sometimes it clears everything down and resolves.

You can also try going to the system management tab in settings and refreshing all apps. This definitely worked for me and seems fine now.

This didn't work for me. I'll keep an eye. Was thinking of cancelling anyway so it's not the end of the world.

Netflix picture quality

Hi All, am new to Sky.

has anyone else had trouble with the Netflix picture quality?

I have spoken with the help desk and after trying lots of things Iwas put on hold only for the call to be cancelled after 20 minutes of waiting

There's a lengthy thread about this. A fix was supposedly sent out last night or the night before. Try rebooting your Glass TV (turn off at the wall for a few mins then power back on) and see if it applies the fix. Some customers have said it works, others say it doesn't.
