ITVX Problem on Sky Stream

When I use the 'continue watching' bar from the Sky Stream homepage for anything I'm watching on ITVX, it doesn't start from where I left off. Instead it goes back to the start of the episode. 

Happening to anyone else and is there a fix?

@wdhayden    ITVX is not the best of apps in my opinion, but that being said it should work properly.  Two thing to try if you haven't already.  Go to Settings then System management and select Refresh apps, this often works with ITVX, this can take quite a few minutes, my advice is to leave it on that page, it should tell you it is refreshing, and wait until it automatically goes off onto your home page then you know it is done.  It may continue in the background undetected for up to 24 hours so if that hasn't sorted it give it 24 hours and try again.

My experience is it should sort it as soon as you are returned to the home page.  After that it would'nt hurt to unplug your puck from the power source wait a minute or two then plug it back in..   I hope that sorts it for you.

Hi @wdhayden You can reset the ITVX app by opening the app & entering  0 0 0 0 7 7 7

 

This clears the cache and should help resolve any issues with the specific ITVX app. After entering the code the App should respond by saying “The storage has been cleared”.  Select OK and the App will reset and display the privacy & cookies information. Select continue.

 

Note there is no where specific to enter the code just type it into your remote when you are on the homepage of the ITVX App

 

You could also reboot your puck but unplugging it for a couple of minutes and then plugging it back in again (it will take a couple of minutes to reboot)

I have seen issues with individual shows - I recently had a problem with the CW rail and the first two seasons of grace on itvx 

 

once I got  to season 3 of grace it started behaving

Hi my ITVX app is kind of frozen, it won't load, do you just input the code, even though nothing seems to be working, how long does this process take? Tia

@CCB1   I'm not sure the code will work if it is frozen but wouldn't hurt to try.  It shouldn't take long.

Otherwise do as I suggested to @wdhayden above.

What I've found is that if I continue watching from the 'continue watching' menu on the Sky Stream home page, it will take me right back to the start of the TV show or film... but if I go to the ITVX App, it will take me to where I left off.

I am still having problems at being unable to what ITVX playback from my playlist, I spoke to an advisor a few days ago, I was on the phone for hrs, eventually he said he was going to escalate the problem to someone else as he couldn't fix it, it is now 3 days since this call & nothing has changed, they're saying it's not the puck, but how is it I can watch ITVX playback on my other puck in my bedroom?

I have had issues with Fortune Hotel, on the Sky ITV X app can only watch first episode, but I have Google TV, tried that and low & behold, all episodes are available, hope this helps in some way

If you email viewerR@sky.uk they can deal with missing / broken episode meta data

I know I keep moaning, but the Sky Stream is pants

Fortune Hotel tonight was about to end, after selecting watch from start, message says we need to upgrade to Premium

What?

Can I downgrade to broadband only, or cancel altogether, it seems every programme we try to watch on demand is either not available or I have to pay more to upgrade

Hi @DexterNotts when you get the upgrade message have you tried rebooting your puck or refreshing the ITVX App?  See post 3 above for details.

Sure, I rebooted the puck earlier this week, so that would have updated apps, I have now refreshed apps as well, thanks
