HBO Max issues

Is anyone else having issues with HBO Max?

trying to stream tennis from Roland Garros and the HBO app repeatedly freezing and requiring switching off at the mains as the box seizes completely.  Not happening with any other apps and really frustrating as trying to watch specific matches.

any known issues with this app?

- internet is strong and stable 

- apps refreshed

Does your TV have the HBO Max app installed? Have you tried logging in to it instead? It can often be more stable using apps which are stored locally rather than on Sky's servers (as all apps on SkyOS are).

Apps which are memory intensive often are more stable when run locally on a TV or streaming device with more RAM than a Stream Puck, 

I've been watching the mens singles using the HBO Max app on my Apple TV 4K box this morning and not had any issues at all.

its frustrating that sky stream doesn't work as promised though and we have to do work arounds. 🤔

Sounds odd.

Have not had any issues with the app. This week or since we got it free from Sky.

Did have the free with ads from Sky version up until last week but have added TNT Sports for a month, for the Roland Garros and Le Mans weekend.

Been watching the Roland Garros tennis without issue on either of my Sky Stream boxes.

 

See you have tried an apps refresh. 
Further to that we find with app niggling issue it can be beneficial to also try a restart of your broadband router/hub with your Sky Glass/Stream in standby while doing so.

Not really seeing though issues with the HBO Max app for its own content or TNT Sports.

 

If you are a TNT Sports subscriber via Sky, you can view Roland Garros on the TNT Sports linear channels, one of them being in UHD albeit more selective sports game content.
But the HBO app with TNT sports does offer all the games, a nice form of multiscreen selection and a lot more of the replays/highlights and background.

 

If after you try the broadband router/hub restart as above and still get problems, we can do an escalation with the Sky community escalation team for you to chat online with Sky and further diagnose your issue?

@lettice @Thank you for replying.  I'm a long term "puck sufferer" so have tried all the usual methods and workarounds, including rebooting the (Sky) broadband router on a number of occasions. 
further to a suggestion from another use I've been watching via the Sony Bravia HBO app which is flawless, whilst attempts to watch via the Sky puck are hopeless. 
EVERY single match we've tried to watch it freezes, and when it freezes it locks up completely and it requires a full power off at the wall to reboot.  on a number of occasions the sound disappears to and thus isn't rectified unless the box is rebooted.
No other apps seem to be affected so it definitely is an HBO Max app issue on my puck.

it would be good for this to be escalated as I notice another couple of threads on here with similar issues now, particularly relating to the freezing issues.

Having the same issue as you, OP!

 

Tried all the same stuff too and still having the same issues, also having the same happen with the 2 TNT Sports channels showing RG coverage which makes it extra frustrating.. 

 

Also the advice to just watch via the HBOMax apps on other devices is not really helpful as you can only watch on that on 2 devices at a time and as tennis fans there are so many more matches we want to be watching simultaneously! 

 

Would be interested to know if you had any help from the escalation 🙂

I would like to know any outcomes aswell . Paid the sub for tnt and every match freezes on Roland Garros . I've been rebooting 4 or 5 times every match . Nearly flung the sky box out the window

Yup - same here. It's a real pain. Likewise have tried all the fixes but it's happening every few hours.

TNT Sports (HBO Max) Freezes.

Anyone else had this issue? 

Watching reply tennis on TNT Sports (HBO Max) and the screen freezes after a period of time. Need to pull plug and reboot every time.
